Bindings

The last step consists of the artisanal binding of the book. We also carry out this step in our workshop in order to have the greatest possible control over all of our projects. Most often, we make a half-leather or parchment binding. As we make our own paste-papers, each copy is unique in its colors and can be chosen by the customer according to his tastes.

We also have special editions bound in full leather by renowned bookbinders like Roger Green, whose elegant designs always match the contents of the book.

The number of copies is naturally reduced, given the complexity of the process. Each printing is carried out on one of our hand presses (without electricity, as at the time of Gutenberg...), each additional color requires a new passage in the press. Rarely more than 50 copies of the same book leave our workshop. Each book is numbered and signed by the artist.

The selection of text is meticulous. Most are authors who have proven themselves over the centuries (Ovide, Kleist, La Fontaine, Baudelaire, Rodenbach...) and with whom we have great esteem. We present the ancient texts in our own new translation.
